Curry! That is all you need to know! Comfort food at it's best! Try the house curry if you LOVE peanuts. Yummm!!
Got my meal wrong the first time. Quick fix. Very good food. Would definitely go back!
I have spent time in Thailand. Nothing stateside compares but this restaurant is very good. The restaurant is owned by a Thai woman and her American husband. They are both top drawer people. Notice the picture of the owner in the cabinet by the door receiving her college diploma from the King of Thailand. She's cooking tonight. Ignore the negative reviews, this is as good as it gets, better than anything I have had in Portland. Don't whine about food being to spicy hot. Thai food is often fiery hot. Shut up and eat or go to Burger King. Eat the duck curry and the Som Tom salad. Smile.
Not cheap but worth it for a splurge. Great food!
The food was delicious, the atmosphere was fantastic. The staff is welcoming and super friendly. I don't go to restaurants very often unless its it's a special occasion which this visit was and we were pretty loud but the staff was still very nice about it. We had such a great time there. This is one of the best places in town and I will definitely visit again.
The food is great here and so is the staff. I like the natural lighting from the windows. It's a calm place to go with friends and enjoy some Thai cuisine!
Historically, best ever Thai food. Everything's excellent, including service. Busy place, limited parking... order in advance, get it togo.
It's a nice place. The staff is very friendly. The best Thai food in The Dalles
Every time is great at Montira's. Got Pad Thai and House Curry. Delicious.
Really really good drunken noodles. Pumpkin curry good too.
Food was good, flavorful. Definitely not the best thai I've ever had, but it satisfied the craving we had. Would return
Very good food. Not your run of the mill Asian food. This is really good stuff. Great service. Good atmosphere.
food and decor were very very good especially its in the dalles we understand they were busy but ok dont wear it on your face come on folks
This place was pretty darn good, enjoyed the appetizer which is pictured. I also ordered a cold scallop salad. I feel the salad could have had more scallops on it but all in all it tasted quite good. Service was curt and professional.
Excellent tom kah, pad tai and the pad ka-prow. My to go place for thai. Cheers
The quality here is top notch. Definitely get the wontons. Some of the best I've had in a long time.
I have had type food only one time and did not have a good experience or enjoy it. This was my second trip to a Thai restaurant. The service was exceptional the staff was commendable and the food was terrific. I had a friend with me that help me order. I got the yellow curry with chicken and now I have a favorite Thai food. Wonderful service for a group of us and quick and efficient. Very friendly staff
Excellent food with friends. Cozy and friendly with great variety of thai cuisine.
They overcharged my Mango w/ sticky rice. When I brought it up with the cashier, he said, “well, we are in the middle of changing the menu pricing”. Instead of admitting a screw up, and honor the current menu price, they’d rather be jerks about it. It’s only a $1.50, so I didn’t argue about it, but it’s in the principle. I normally tip well, but not this time. They should take a lesson in business decency.
Excellent Thai place in Dalles. Must stop if you are enroute to eastern washington via 84/Columbia River Gorge
Great food and a lot options that fit my diet.
Best Thai I've had in awhile. Got some curry, spring rolls, and a side order of sticky rice with a bottle of sweet chili sauce. I got my order to go, so I couldn't really tell you about the inside or wait staff. I know for my Birthday I was to stuffed to go to the bar for a pitcher. Awesome!
Okay taste, decent service, okay prices.
Food was good. Everything a little overcooked. I'm guess that's because its pre cooked then microwaved. But over all decent restaurant.
Always friendly staff. The owner is on site and visits with people. Nice touch. Beautiful presentations on most dishes. Excellent salad rolls.
Excellent food at good prices!
Superb dishes and friendly service. The best yellow curry in the northwest, no joke!
Great prices for awesome Thai food. The staff is super friendly. This is the trendy place to go for dinner in The Dalles.
Montira is the nicest woman alive. She always remembers me when I come in and asks how I am. My favorites on the menu are the fresh wraps, the pad Thai, The Dalles Ring is Fire, the Peanut Curry, and the Tom Yum soup. There are some good vegetarian options.
Sweet and fun place with a great separate room for dinners and meetings. I may have burned part of my face off by asking for very spicy...but, dang. It hurt so good.Attentive, joyful staff. Great prices. Heaping helpings.
The best curry I’ve had. Could’ve used more rice but man it was delicious
Pretty good food. Nice people serving you. We had the Crab Rangoon to start, very 😋 tasty. Then had the noodle variety platter with beef. Very fresh and tasty. We also tried the Crispy duck with fresh spinach. Exceptional... moist and luscious. The prices are quite high for The Dalles. There is enough on each plate for two servings. So sharing might be a smart idea. Good beer selection too. A bit of trivia... this restaurant was once the "Arctic Circle"drive in !
Tasty Thai food is served with good service in a pleasant atmosphere. The fresh rolls (elsewhere known as salad rolls) are an excellent appetizer. We had three different dishes and shared them; all were quite good and the spice just right. The parking lot is tricky to approach from the east so it's safer to go around to come in from the west.
Not sure how the jungle curry is not a soup, but I'd recommend against it. Generally, flavors and dishes were not as good as last visit across the board.
The food is always amazing. Usually the are fast and polite. Tonight getting our food was slow and our waitress was as well.
So many great options! For kids, too. They were busy but service was fast.
Love this place but tonight was disappointed. Eat here 8 times a year. Thai chicken was Thai Carrotts w not much chicken Less than half chick breast. Took 15 min to get wine , 30 minutes for dinner. Owner was cooking but need more help out front and another coming in kitchen. Please fix this cause we live the food.
This has been a favorite place for our extended family for several years. The food is freshly-prepared and always tasty regardless of what we order.
Really good food, fair prices. Service was fast for as busy as they were and the lady had no problem splitting 1 check 3 ways at checkout with 3 cards, we were very appreciative of the service.
We stop here every chance we get as we drive back and forth through the gorge. We are never disappointed. My wife loves the pumpkin curry. I think this might be the best Thai restaurant in Oregon.
Fast friendly service. Easy and safe during Coronavirus to order and pick up
Best Thai food in The Dalles. We drive from Hood River just for lunch!
Fantastic Thai food, great staff!
Really delicious, but a bit slow in coming with the food. That's the reason for 4 stars. The food is fresh and good tasting!
Ate here for lunch today. Quickly seated, the service is what’s getting all of the stars here. Ordered spring rolls and green curry, this is where it breaks down. I couldn’t get over how sweet the dipping sauce AND the curry was. The dipping sauce was basically tangy honey, very little flavor. The green curry tasted like they literally added a tablespoon of sugar to it. My mouth felt like I’d eaten a candy bar. There was some spice, some flavor, nothing spectacular, but boy oh boy was it sweet. As well, in the curry, there were two (!) small bites of eggplant, two (!!) small bites of green pepper, two (!!!!!!!) small bites of red pepper, and just so much bamboo you guys. I like bamboo. It’s yummy. It shouldn’t be the star ingredient in a curry. The chicken in the broth, while ample, was rubbery and tasteless. I want to reiterate, though, that the service was commendable. The young man waiting tables was funny, quick, and attentive. Bumped this review up an extra star.
Better price/quality ratio than most places in town. Good taste, great presentation, reasonable value.
Not quite uber-traditional Thai (no lime with my Pad Thai, for instance), but everything was super tasty, and the chef came out to chat while we paid our bill. I'd definitely eat here again, just make sure you request a little extra spice if you can handle it.
Great food, people service. Very reasonable prices.
Really great Thai and generous portions! I had Panang Curry - spicy, with chicken...It was amazing! Reasonably priced too! Service was very good!
